Black Desert House sits at 4,000 feet above sea level in the High Desert’s spectacular 360-acre private community of Rock Reach.

Only 10 homes exist in Rock Reach and the community is surrounded on three sides by preserved lands.  A single, private dirt road provides access to the community owners and guests, creating an unparalleled sense of privacy.

Forever views to the north of Black Desert House include vistas into a 440-acre ranch that remains an essentially untouched assemblage of enormous weathered boulders, ancient pinion pines, stunted desert oaks, iconic Joshua trees and twisted desert junipers… with conservancy and protected lands beyond.

Although it feels very far removed from civilization, Black Desert House is at the edge of the town of Yucca Valley.

A short drive from stores, restaurants and entertainment in Yucca Valley and historic Pioneertown (including wildly popular Pappy & Harriet’s).  And still only 45 minutes to Palm Springs if you want more shopping or entertainment.

The largest draw for the High Desert is undoubtedly Joshua Tree National Park. Slightly larger than the state of Rhode Island, JTNP’s nearly 800,000 acres offer endless sightseeing, walking and climbing opportunities.  And the west entrance to the park is 20 minutes from Black Desert House.
